Pirates introduced to BBC Electric Proms


Pete and the Pirates, General Fiasco, Chew Lips and Pull In Emergency are to play a BBC Introducing night in Camden later this month as part of the BBC Electric Proms 2008.

 

BBC Introducing at the Electric Proms takes place at Proud Galleries on Sunday 26 October – tickets went on sale at 9.00am today via the BBC Electric Proms site at bbc.co.uk/electricproms

 

The gig will also be broadcast on BBC Radio 1 on Wednesday 29 October.

 

BBC Electric Proms is a five-day festival, dedicated to creating new moments in music, that takes place in London and Liverpool from 22 to 26 October.

 

BBC Introducing brings together the best unsigned, undiscovered and under-the-radar music, artists and DJs from across the BBC.

 

All the BBC's supporters of unsigned music have joined forces to bring listeners the newest artists from across the UK.

 

Electric Proms on the BBC

 

The festival can be viewed and heard via a number of different platforms on the BBC.

 

Radio – there will be live and recorded broadcasts from all areas of the festival on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, 1Xtra, BBC 6 Music, BBC Asian Network and BBC Radio Merseyside.

 

TV – highlights from this year's BBC Electric Proms will be screened on BBC Two and BBC Four with additional performances available to digital viewers via their red button interactive service.

 

Online – performances will be available to watch for a week after the festival along with photos and interviews at bbc.co.uk/electricproms.
